Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Good Afternoon, I"m fairly new to these boards and I have what I hope isn't a dumb question. Is the book Real Learning by Elizabeth Foss only to be enjoyed by people that are Catholic or otherwise religious? I hope this isn't an inconsiderate question. I don't have any problem with religion per se, we just don't happen to have any religious beliefs. I tried but it just never happened for me
Thank you so much.

Karen, not at all!! My book is loaned out ATM, but I am positive you will find many helpful hints, resources, and support no matter what your beliefs are. Elizabeth is most certainly Catholic, and that shines through in the book, but it is not a book for Catholics only, or even for homeschoolers only!
Take what you like and leave the rest!
Welcome to 4Reallearning!

Welcome to the board, Karen! I am not Catholic but I am Protestant Christian. You can definitely enjoy and find many nuggets of wisdom from Real Learning. You do not need to be Catholic to glean all of the ideas that are brimming from this book.

Welcome, Karen! I am relatively new as well, in fact I actually read her book and THEN wanted to come find these boards because I loved Elizabeth's book so much!

I am not Catholic either, however I am a Christian. I have discussed this book on another board where every single lady that had read the book posted that she LOVED the book and none of us were Catholic.

This book has SO many wonderful practical ideas that I want to read and re-read it often! There are sections on religion and incorporating that into your homeschool, however, there is so much meat throughout the book on all topics that you don't have to be Catholic to appreciate it!

I hope that makes sense - in a word - GET IT! It's an awesome book that all homeschoolers should read, in my humble opinion.

Hi Karen and welcome

Well nearly everyone in my hs support group has read the book and enjoyed it. Our group consists of Catholic, Protestant and non-Christian ladies. They have all enjoyed Elizabeth's book, put it this way it is always out on loan.

Thank you, Everyone, for making me feel so welcome. I'm only sorry I waited so long to post the question as I was worried about offending someone. I truly never mean to do that!! I will purchase Real Learning and am looking forward to reading it.
Thank you again.
