I am just curious if any of you are successfully using multi-levels of CHC for your children? I had a friend invite me over to see her CHC stuff, she will be teaching a grade two and kindergardener. I loved what I saw, my only concern is can I teach/help them with 4 levels at once?
I have an 9yo, 8yo, 6yo, 5yo ...and 4yo, 2yo and 16mo. Is that realistic for a Mama with 7 little ones and another due in Spring? Why am I asking this when everyone else is likely beginning today? LOL I am waiting to start formally for another 4 weeks until the morning sickness has passed by.
I was also considering Seton, esp. for my 9yo... And trying to start sooner.

Rebecca,
I have used CHC for many levels at once up until this year. Last year I had 6th, 4th, 2nd and 1st graders. We used CHC as the backbone and gleaned alot from Mater Amabilis, and some just off the bookcase at home. This year I have 2 following CHC, 2nd and K'er, the other 3 are enrolled in Seton.
I like having CHC to use as a backbone. The workbooks work very well when you cannot plan alot of hands on because of a housefull of sick littles/morning sickness, etc... and I love the gentility and beauty of the sacrament prep. and religious ed. I have used it to the T for months at a time also, and we all did very well with that. That's actually what I am doing with my 2nd grader this year and we both are really enjoying it.
The oldest 3 are enrolled in Seton. I was pretty panicked about it at first because it seemed to 'rigid' to me. But really it's not. I think I have enough experience under my belt at this point not to wig out at the lengthy and detailed lesson plans and just follow what works for each child.

Thankyou Lisa.
I don't know if I can say I have enough experience under my belt... Only three years and I feel I am still learning, and I have a lot of questions and less answers. My oldest son is a challenge, he doesn't want to co-operate, so we think he needs more structure (Seton), my non-structure seems to be a reason for him to take advantage of me/the situation. But then we have concerns about spending the money on Seton and worries that he won't co-operate. I feel he is not getting an adequate education at this point. My younger girls will be enthusiastic and interested no matter how I present something.
Thankyou for the suggestions I will look into those.
