Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Just a heads up that tomorrow (July 28) is Beatrix Potter's birthday. There has been much talk of all things Miss Potter with the movie/video out now. We just watched it last night, too. Very delightful and we are fired up to follow some other folks on their rabbit trails.

So what would you do for a Beatrix Potter birthday celebration?

Thank you! A Delightful Idea to kick off this rabbit trail on Beatrix Potter's Birthday! A nice tea time with a little cake or something would go nicely and fill up this weekend's long hours nicely! We have printed the coloring pages off of beatrixpotter.com and are going to paint them in with watercolor! Should be lots of fun! Thanks!

Thank you for bringing this up. I didn't realize it. I'm reading Beatrix Potter - A Life in Nature now. It really is quite interesting. I plan to watch Miss Potter while enjoying a cup of tea this weekend.

Anyone who lives in the Northern Virginia area, The British Pantry is going to be having some celebratory teas on Saturday and Sunday in honor of Ms. Potter.

I'm SO NOT READY for her birthday; especially as dh is in the midst of home improvement projects before school starts in August and we're going to the Rockies v Dodgers game tomorrow night

But I am getting LOTS of great resources for the unit I'm working on to kick-off our nature studies this year ....

The chef at a Lake District Hotel came up with a menu to honor here.

Check it out here.

I might have to search the library for some of these Beatrix Potter themed cookbooks!

Probably not in time for tomorrow though.
