Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Last year this was recommended. I'm thinking about buying it and I'm curious how it worked out for you.

I bought it and I really like it. I might be using it, but only as a supplement. I only paid 5.00 for it so I think it was worth it! Another friend and I both have it and we are looking into using it as part of our co-op plans.

I am interested to hear from people who have sctually used it.

We used this last year and I really like it as well as did dd. I start our "theme" out by writing it on construction paper with the definition. Dd uses this for copywork and copies this into her notebook. I then put the construction paper copy on the fridge for all of us to see all of the time so we are reminded of what we are working on. This way it was not all aimed at dd but it became a family thing to work on. We did the other activities throughout the week and so on through the month, as well as reviewing the definition. Since we were doing FIAR I tried to match PACE with the story we were reading which worked out really well.
I am looking forward to using it again this year although FIAR will not be our main curricula this year.

I just ordered this and it looks wonderful! It is broken down into suggested readings for grade levels and suggested stories to read from The Moral Compass and The Book of Virtues, both by William Bennett. It also provides a suggested monthly virtue to focus on starting with September, but you can start with whichever whenever!. I am looking forward to implementing it and using it with my oldest 3.

I have never heard of the P.A.C.E program. Where do you get it? What age group does the program target? Thanks for any information, as I am still a fledging homeschooling Mom.

I just bought mine from emmanuelbooks.com for $24.95
I heard great reviews and it's definitely something I want to do with my children. I believe it's from elementary ages.
HTH,
Meredith

The link you had is the first edition of this program...I have the second and according to Emmanuel Booksthere are some updates.

We started to use this last year and are going to continue with it this year. I add a lot of character building stories and as we go, we create a Book of Virtues which is a notebook of our work including a focus on Our Lady (and hymns to her)and the Saints, copywork (poems and prayers) and artwork too!

HTH!

God love you!

Darlene, Emily, Meredith, & Donna Marie,

Thank you for the information! Sounds like a good program. I appreciate the suggestions/ideas about how you have used the book with your families. I'll be ordering it today.

I have a copy Theresa, if you would like to look at it. Linda Nelson at Sacred Heart also has this book. I believe that I have the lastest version as well. I started it last year, but it sort of fell by the wayside. Plans are to do incorporate into our curriculum this year. I really like what you did Donna Marie. I was trying to create a notebook as well. Now I am truly inspired!

I was toying with this idea myself. I was thinking of lapbooks for each virtue, or a scrapbook. I am leaning toward scrapbook, so everything can be under one cover. I'll let you all know how it goes.

I got mine in the mail today. Just glanced through it and it looks great! Something very doable for my children and I. I am excited about it. I loved reading how others have used the program in their home schools.
Thanks for sharing them!
