Hello-
I know many of you enjoy using Usborne Books. I was wondering what your recommendations or favorites are? A friend at church is selling them so I thought I'd support her. Any suggestions would be great!

Tiffany,
Our absolute favorites hands-down are the Great Search books, esp the Great Animal Search....the pictures are lovely. I think their second favorite is the World History Tour Search.
These are great and big books to read and look at on those long car/RV rides up to Mount Shasta to go camping
or, even at swim meets
They are great for all ages and readers and non-readers alike!
Oh, and mom, too, can join in the fun.
Easter blessings to you and your family!
Hmmm.....maybe they will be good for a cross-country tour, too

We like LOTS of them, so it's hard for me to narrow it down
For littles-- Usborne Big Book of Playtime Activities (draw, color, count, fingerpaint...the options are endless!)
We love our Usborne Science Experiment books (Volumes I-III); they fit nicely with FIAR/HSS unit studies.
I also really like the Beginner Science Series; the pictures are gorgeous and the text is easy for a young reader. We've read those books over and over and over. They aren't written in a living-book kind of way, but they are very nice for reference.
My son's favorites are the lift-the-flap learners (I think that's what they are called). We have Under the Sea, Farm Animals, and Animal Babies. They have many more in the series, and I would own them all if they weren't so expensive because he really remembers the facts in those books (and he loves lifting the various flaps).
Okay, I'll stop there before I go overboard!

Yeah, it's hard to narrow it down. But I'm partial to the art books by Fiona Watts
Art Ideas
Art Projects
Art Skills
...and also really like all the internet-linked books because they refer you to websites which coincide with the material in the books.

Thanks for noticing you crazy, wonderful chicken lady!!!!
Tiffany, some of my favorites are:
The Great Wildlife Search
Encyclopedia of World History
The Children’s Book of Art
Any of the learning how to draw books or art books are excellent
1001 things to spot in Fairyland
Hope that helps!

We really love the internet-linked Usborne books. They tend to flesh out a topic very nicely.

Maria P kindly sent me some of sample guides to the Ten Terrific Weeks - use Usborne books as a basis for unit studies. Very nicely done! I'm thinking of ordering some...
