I am planning (if I can figure it out that is) to delete my entire blog at www.homeschoolblogger.com.
I found out the statement of faith by The Old Schoolhouse magazine, who runs this homeschool blogger site is very blatantly anti-Catholic, and in good conscience, I just can't stay there.
I also emailed, asking them to not send me the remainder of my subscription to their magazine.
So please delete my blog from any list you may be keeping. Thank you.

I've never read TOS's Statement of Faith until just now. Wow. Many I've read are subtly anti-Catholic, but this one is pretty blatant. I'll be moving my blog TODAY. Tracy, I think you have to email them to request your blog be deleted. However, I will keep mine up and post on it why I have moved-lots of people use the Random Blog feature at homeschoolblogger and maybe I can enlighten/educate someone that way. I've got my Typepad account ready to go-I just need to do it. Thanks for the kick in the pants, Tracy!

Jennifer,
I know! I'm very used to protestant homeschooling companies, websites, message boards, magazines, etc. having a statement of faith we don't quite agree with, but I've NEVER seen something so contrived and fabricated blatantly and purposefully to be so against our Faith.
I can't possibly support them any longer. I PMed the person who needs to delete my blog. Thanks!
Tracy

YUCK! I'm so glad I moved from there. I will also delete my old blog, which I had left up as an archive.

Two are in my signature. The other two are: Catholic Geography and Pro-Life Quotes.

Good grief. I had never read the Statement of Faith at TOS either. I still had my old blog there set up to direct people to my new one, but I've asked them to delete it.

That's my first thought too, Kim. We are so lucky to live in beautiful, mountainous Colorado aren't we?
P.S. And your new hairstyle is very becoming.

I've been feeling more and more lately like moving my apologetics to the offensive (as opposed to just waiting for opportunities to defend the faith); I don't have a blog but what would happen if you all kept your blogs on homeschoolblog.com and then began making them more and more Catholic in a Biblical sort of way? Like going on and on about the beauty of John 6, what the church fathers thought of it, etc. ykim? Would they recognize it as Catholic and remove it; would they recognize it as Catholic and biblical and be unable to challenge it; would they just see it as biblical and therefore in line with their "statement" (which IMO is a wordy re-writing of the Apostle creed--something the Bible condemns); or would they not see it at all? Just curious

Gwen, that's exactly what I was talking about with another Catholic HSer I know thru a LLL list. I do think it would be great if many of you great bloggers would STAY on homeschoolblogger and use it as a platform to teach them the error of their ways, or get kicked off trying.
I still would warn the unaware of the TOS statement of faith so they'd know to be cautious...

Well I haven't deleted my site at all...
Now all *I* have to figure out is how to re-do my template into a pretty catholic one... preferably with Catholic quotes of the day and Mass readings popping up on the side... any help there?

Rachel,
Here's the code to insert the Mass readings in your template--just remove the spaces before & after the brackets <> below:
< iframe width="150" height="120" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" src="http://www.catholiccontent.com/150/mass/" style="display: block;" >< /iframe >
Here's the link for Catholiccontent.com, where the above code came from.

Lissa,
I also noticed you had the feast or saint of the day under your date. HOW did you do that?

I update that every morning—I created a Typelist (a Typepad feature) for the purpose, and every day I edit its configuration, changing its name to reflect the current day & saint. Which explains why somedays it says the wrong thing!

Lissa,
Thanks so much for the code!
Do you have code which would allow a blog visitor to input a date and find the Mass readings for another day of the year?
