Maria, I have been uploading MP3 files onto postings in my blog BUT I haven't been loading it straight up onto the blog. I've been loading them up onto my pastel portrait website (which is now groaning under the weight of all the things I upload onto it... ) and then I add that website 'link' to the blog.

So I would be very interested also, to hear how to upload an MP3 file straight onto the blog....

Is it important to upload it straight into the blog?

If so, you'll have to find a host for your blog that can handle mp3 files, i.e., you'll have to have a private blog with your own domain name.

At wordpress.com you'll have to buy an upgrade which will enable you to upload mp3 files, etc.

AFAIK with blogger you have to have your mp3 files hosted elsewhere, and then embed it that way.

Stef, do you mean, why don't you just link to the mp3 from the net? (wherever it has come from?)

In my case, I'm making them at home and so it would seem uploading them onto my website is my only option at this stage with blogger?

Yes. If you're using blogger your only option at this time is to upload it to your website, assuming your host can handle mp3 files. Or, use mp3 hosting elsewhere.

You could check out Odeo. I think they are still free to store your mp3s... We store our mp3s on our own server and then create a link to the file in the blog (using the "a href" tag), which has worked better than embedding the file/player into the post.
