Oh thanks! I felt totally inspired while designing the header. It is an actual photograph of the Sinai Desert.
I can't wait to get started!

It is beautiful, Nissa.
Makes me want to try blogspot again. You've done a great job and I'm so excited to have this to go to for Lent.

I have a dear friend here in Australia who has been journeying to the Church for some time now. Just before Christmas her two teenage children were baptised and confirmed in the Church
She has recently moved from remote Alice Springs to Western Australia where in many ways she is even more remote if possible. They now only get to town once every six weeks!
I would love it if some of you dear ladies could make it to her blog occasionally to give her encouragement ande ease her isolation. Besides she has some great pics up of the Australian desert

Dear Nissa,
I'm so glad there's a Lenten blog. I'll be sending you ideas when they come to me.
Here's my link to your blog. I have given it a special place in my sidebar. Can't wait to read it.

Nissa-
HOW did you do it so that when you put your cursor over a link you can see the link page without actually clicking to it? (And did that even make sense??) I love it!

Geez, I missed that last post! It's a program called Snap!. You get the code from www.snap.com, and punk it into your weblog or webpage before the header and hey, presto!
Neat huh?

Remember, the Loveliness of Lent Fair will be posted both at "Simple Gifts" and at “These Forty Days” on Monday 19 February. I need your submissions by the end of this week.
Also, if you wish to submit articles of a Lenten nature throughout the season, please email me or one of my co-editors. Mary Ellen is our handcrafts editor so please let her know if you have a project to share. Projects can be for children or adults. Alert her to links to craft patterns as well. Donna Marie is our curriculum editor so if you have a book recommendation, unit study, or just want to lead us down a rabbit trail, let her know. Don’t forget alert her to books for adults if you have a favorite!
I’m looking for lots and lots of recipes, being the food editor and all! Please submit your Mardi Gras menus, recipes, celebrations right away!

Hi ladies! I just wanted to let you all know that I now have a podcast. It is available at my blog or on iTunes
Father Augustine's homilies will download daily with your subscription and I hope to have a semi-regular recording schedule now, too. I'm in need of music - liturgical and otherwise. If you have a podsafe mp3, you can send it to me at my email addy.
You can respond to anything I have on the show by emailing or sending an mp3 voice recording (I can also convert WMA files). We're working on getting a skype number so that you can call in, too. As always, if you have a prayer request, please send it - it's the last segment of the show.
