Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Helen, I also want you to know how much I love your Mary Vitamin...it is a blessing to have a few moments each day to refresh myself in contemplating the glories of Mary and Jesus. Thank you!
Thanks Caroline!

Maybe some others would like to use Mary Vitamin as part of their summer Marian program? The link is in my signature. I use quotes from many different saints, popes and trusted theological sources. The vitamins are short -- designed for busy moms!

I haven't been online for much of the past month, but did join the Mary Vitamin Yahoo group earlier today, before heading over here and finding htis thread :)

Thank you for both the Mary Vitamin group (which has already blessed me just with the info and questions in the welcome packet) and this thread. I've been growing in my appreciation of Mary in the past year of so, and tried to do the St. Louis de Montfort Consecration both last year and earlier this year, but was really stumbling over some of his phrasing which seemed to be ceding to Mary that which is due to God alone - most of the time I can read in context (Frenchman of 17th/18th Century) and then it makes sense, but I'm still struggling a bit here. So I am thankful for some support along the way.

Earlier this week our family had an experience of what I believe was direct intevention/intercession from Mary (we were awakened just before we had a fire in the very early morning hours); so I'm feeling that this is where I need to accept that I cannot yet fully understand Mary's role in God's plans, but that I do believe it is something wonderful beyond my understanding. (Oh, wait... is that what they mean by faith? )

So, I'm looking forward to walking through this with others who can perhaps help me sort through questions as they inevitably come up!

Janet

PS My summer reading includes Mary: The Church at the Source (by then Card. Ratzinger; now Pope Benedict); re-reading Story of a Soul by St. Therese, and reading Chesterons Bios of St Thomas and St Francis.
