Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We are reading this Advent. We'll see where that takes us. The only 'craft' planned are those from the Advent cubes. Saint sticks, draw in the nativity, and whatever treat is picked for that day.   We are reading all about St. Nicholas this week, and if we are inspired to 'do' something with that, we'll see. I have way too many littles right now to expect too much. My goal is for all of us to savor this season. Experiece it slowly and deliberatly (my motto these days!).

To me so much of Advent is learned THROUGH the little ones. I learn to look through their eyes of wonder. I just set up the Playmobil Nativity set we won yesterday in a raffle. My son is spending hours just reverently playing with the figures. Lots of quiet contemplation...
