Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Physics for Future Presidents is a fantastic book - my three older kids and I have read it. (a little scary too!)

There is another Physics book they liked called Mad About Physics and also the boys liked The Cartoon Guide to Physics

Angela - I wanted to add that my liberal arts major liked the Physics of Every Day Life. Professor Bloomfield is an excellent Physics professor - at UVA - and many of dd's friends who want to be physics majors, want to study under him.

Yes, I was immediately snagged by it as soon it as it came in! Really interesting, but you're right... also a little scary.

I forgot to add The Manga Guide to Physics. There are a lot of these guides for various sciences (my ds used the one for molecular biology a couple of years ago); they're fun.

My kids have used Saxon Physics, which does not require Calculus. we did not do any labs.
IF you do some extra topics ( which I think are covered on a CD you can get) it will prepare you for the AP Physics B exam.
If your child is going into engineering, he/she will still need to take calculus based Physics in college.
