Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I find all of Susan Wise Bauer tends to be at a higher level than I expect from my kids. My son as a 6th grader did this independently (as I mentioned) until about week 23. Then he needed my help. And then really, really needed my help. So I think WWS1 would be fine and challenging for a 7th grader and probably a 9th grader.

Yes, this. It was a stretch for my sixth grader last year, as well. This particular child is not a natural writer and it was challenging. My student learned a lot and was a much better writer at the end of the year. I think that my student also gained an appreciation for what makes for good writing.

I just got a copy of the Level 2 Instructor's Guide and it looks just as good, if not better, than Level 1. It definitely builds on Level 1. She even has an abbreviated schedule for Level 1 for older students to do before going into Level 2. Something to think about with an older student.

Just my 2 cents.

Really appreciate this! Feeling good about my plan now then, I bought book 1, plan is to get all three olders, 16, 14 and 12 do do book. But with the abbreviated schedule I can fast track ds16 so he can get to book 2 this year. tis his last year with us before College.
