Oh, Jen, your post reminds me of one new thing going well this year for us. We started Latin as well and are using Getting Started With Latin. We really like it.

It moves very slowly, but I like that because I feel there is mastery of something new with every lesson and it is easily done in one lesson a day. My son is also in German school once a week (they call it a Saturday school, even though ours meets on Sunday afternoons), and this year, his studies are a bit more involved, so I didn't want to overwhelm in the language department.

Like Becky, no notable failures, just not magic bullets found either. And like Jen, lots of fits and starts. I, too, this week renewed (AGAIN!) my resolve to do handwriting!
