Thanks so much for the permission to ditch our workbooks. We are officially done with MCP Phonics. Now school runs so much more smoothly. We are playing lots of phonics games and reading his readers and he is progressing just as much, if not more, than before! We also are doing Who Am I much more informally. We discuss the topic of the week and read the stories while the kids are doing the craft for that week. It is painless and they are really retaining it. We still do the handwriting book and math book, but DS5 really loves those. We are spending so much more time on the fun stuff, especially our unit studies and read alouds. Everyone is having fun and learning. No more whining! I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from me. Thanks ladies! You gave me the courage to do what was right for my family and we are reaping the rewards now!!!!
