Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Do you remember the old Artist of the Month and Composer of the Month studies we did here on 4 real about 3 years ago? Lots of resources there as well.

Anyone up for reviving this study and doing some new ones? I really enjoyed them, but very few folks seemed to be going along with them together.

Any takers on reviving these studies?

Do you some vision of what we could add? The list is pretty thorough. Would we cover some artists in a second or third pass over?

Cover something differently?

Shall we just cover artists and composers, or perhaps themes?

I'll be glad to help with an area. If we could get "assignments" and divvy up the work it would be great!

Well...actually there are still lots of artists and composers I can think of who we haven't done (actually more artists mostly). Or taking one we've already done and updating and adding ideas and resources - it's been several years and I know there are more books on some artists/composers. We have done some thematic topics within the studies before so that is always a possibility. I think it's up to who ever wants to do it. In the past we had one person do the set up and selection for a longer period of time. I'm all for signing up for a month. Actually I was hoping there would be some interest and I'd selfishly volunteer to do the first one...since we are doing it anyway this month, because we always do something cowboy themed in January here.

Charles M. Russell - western artist

There isn't a lot left of the month, but I have the resources ready. Then someone could do February.

Oh, and I could do a cowboy "composer" too - have an idea there.

If your child is older - 4th grade and up I'd say - you may want to try this:

Famous Composers Notebooking Pages

This one is cheaper, but I don't have it. I think it's just pages for writing.

or this:

Homeschool in the woods

This one is VERY good!! It contains mp3's as well!!!
I have a small piano studio and I have yet to use it all! I used one part of it for a Boy Scout earning a merit badge in music, I used another for a 4th grader making a lapbook with listening, I mean this thing is FULL and well worth the money!
