Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

He didn't want our children to be weird. (I always said, "You and I are both weird. It's inevitable that our children will be, too, no matter how they are educated!")

That's an awesome line! I might have to borrow it!

My point is, if you are meant to homeschool your children, the Lord will make the way clear...in His time. A couple or few years of school won't do any lasting damage to your kids, and may be what opens your husband's eyes and heart to the possibility of home education.

Thanks, hearing that helps a lot...

Yes, "Dumbing Us Down" is an easy, man-friendly read... it's a good starting point with what's WRONG with public education.

John Holt focuses more on what education should be and how children learn...
