I just read this book and enjoyed it. It was so restful! Maybe because all the kids were so good - they enjoyed their lessons and were excited about math (is that possible?) and there was NO TV.

Also- I really liked reading about the meals they cooked- no fast food, no throwing a pizza in the oven. It was like a peek into a another worlds for me.

The writing wasn't five star, and the story was a bit choppy in places, but I still liked it. The part about the Catholic converting to another religion didn't ruffle my feathers... he was a man who needed serious help, and the people in the story reached out and helped him.

Anyway, a good, calming read for me.

I have been wanting to get this for such a long time.    I enjoyed PP, it was just light sweet reading.

I too thought PP felt a little bit fairytale-ish, with the wonderful cooperating from the kids. At one point I thought that was proof that I wasn't cut out for this job!
