Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

"God is good, all the time."

This is our first year with a motto. We really needed one. We had an unexpected home repair and changed our home/private/public school plans for six of our seven preschool age and up students.

Some of the kids were really upset about the changes (mom, too). So I just explained that God has a plan and that He is good all the time.
The first day I drove 2 of my girls to their CC Challenge program (they were in a private Catholic school in Front Royal last year) we passed a church with a sign out front. The girls read it out loud to me as we drove by, "God is good. All the time!"
:o)

Hi -- new member here. I chose "Pursuing growth in wisdom, age and grace!" when prompted for a motto in Home School Tracker. It suits us.

We've never had an official motto, but this topic has got me thinking. There's something about "actions speak louder than words".

I love reading all the responses. We don't have a school motto yet, but I think our family motto for now is "All for One and One for All."

Great thread! It's so fun and inspirational to read everyone's ideas/mottos

One that came to me a couple years ago and has stuck with me for a few years is "Be attentive to the voice of grace." I love it - although it is more for me than for the children.

I'm looking forward to sitting down with dh and selecting family and homeschool mottos. Someone also recently mentioned to me that we should write a mission statement. They go hand in hand, don't they?

This is not along the lines of others of you but the motto for our school is to keep me on track, which in turn keeps my dd on track.(I hope that makes sense)
Our motto is: "Non scholae sed vitae discimus." Translated we learn not for school but for life.
It is really easy for me, with a family that is against homeschooling, to get caught up in comparing what my dd is doing in relation to her private school cousin. We get a lot of "pop quizzes" from family to see how we are doing in our homeschool, so I need to remember that I am training my dd for life not for school. Once again I hope that this makes sense.
