Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Love:

Faith and Life Level 1 with activity book. We look forward to the lessons and the pictures are beautiful. I love how it's organized.

Devotional Stories for Little Folks. I love all the questions and quotes from Scripture and the Catechism at the end of each story.

A Child's Garden of Verses with pictures by Tasha Tudor. Daughter loves poetry and many of these poems "make her freeze" which means she gets the goosebumps when we read them together.

Crafty Crow blog to find a weekly craft. This blog is a free treasure trove of crafty ideas.

Simply Charlotte Mason online planner - worth every penny for my sanity!

Dislike - Only dislike is RightStart Math Level A. Daughter loves it but I can't get used to the way it's organized. I know many people rave about it, but I'm currently trying to sell it to anybody who wants it so I can switch to Math-U-See.

Not to hijack the thread, but I was doing the 30 day trial but haven't been able to access the planner for weeks. I keep getting an error message. Is it working fine for you?

I did not buy much this year. We are kind of "half unschooling", there is a weekly reading list we usually do complete, but things are adapted readily according to interest and as needed!

Like:
"Flying creatures of the Fifth Day" science--the first time a science curric. is actually working for me!!

Ambleside Online weekly reading lists--I take these and totally adapt them to what's on my shelves/what we want to do, but it gives me a basic format that is flexible but works

"Games for Math" and "Games for Learning" by Peggy Kaye

MCP Math level C--I am using this book as a resource for practice not going through every page, but I like that it is very straightforward and not expensive

D'Aulaire biographies and "The Heroes" by Charles Kingsley, also audio by Jim Weiss and Frances Kelley

Did not Like:

Language Lessons for the Elementary Child by Sandi Queen. eg. days and days of minimal copywork---I have found that my 9 year old needs to really write every day. These assignments were very minimal and just not enough, not that I'm big on grammer workbooks and etc. Maybe she expects that kids will be doing additional writing outside of this? Anyway we are doing better just having him do his own writing and then working with that, gleaning spelling words and etc.

Love:
Latin for Children--There are little hitches, but we work it out by using the CDs, DVDs and both workbooks every week. The kids love the program. One thing I realy love is that every few weeks there is a review chapter. They also have free online resources.

I'm asking my brother to youtube the prayers for us to learn.

Sequential Spelling Day 27 and we cn see a huge improvemen
