Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

For anyone interested, Nissa just sent out a heads up on a "Uniform Buy":

Quote:
I'll be working on the pricelist this week for uniforms.......

Our supplier has sizes from pre-school on up to X size adult. They have a wide variety for me to choose from including British-style dresses, which are a particular fave of mine. These are excellent quality pieces - like the ones you get from better uniform shops.

Plaids (gorgeous plaids) will be available in November. I'll make a separate buy for those.

We tried uniforms last year because Sears was having a HUGE sale on their own brand of uniforms. It worked so-so. They will still put their "uniforms" on but only for at home. Because they so closely matched one of the public school's uniforms they really didn't like to wear them out and about. As a result I added some Homeschool Field Trip clothes to my cafepress store and a couple of other homeschooling items. That is what we plan on wearing for field trips this year and as the weather gets cooler I may invest in some field trip sweatshirts for them as well.

Honestly I found that my adhering to a "uniform" to get in the right frame of mind was far more important for me than it was for the kids. For the state of mind it really didn't seem to make a difference if they were in uniform or not.
