Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Now, I'm not going to name names, but if you don't come forward, I might PM you!

Oops…been meaning to respond to this.

Our oldest daughter graduated in 2004. She never had a desire to attend college; her longing was that of wife and mother. She is employed as an administrative assistant at the American Cancer Society. She is married and has a daughter who just turned 1.

Our eighteen year old daughter, a 2008 grad, is leaving for Duquesne tomorrow morning majoring in entrepreneurship and business administration.

DD#1 is going to be a senior at Washington and Jefferson college in Washington, PA--. English/Psych double major with a minor in Soc. She has spent many hours babysitting her English prof's daughter and shared so many of the books we love and making up stories as they walk in the park.
I just dropped DD#2 off at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA. She ia anticipating a major in history and maybe something in English.

You don't have to update, MacBeth, I just wanted to share my excitement that Jake began his first full time job two weeks ago, working in the ebay department for a sports apparel warehouse. He puts their product online at ebay, and pulls their orders for them. He was pretty excited that he has his own workstation!

I like how he can gradually work out his adulthood while still with some guidance and comforts of home and family. He's doing well, I hear, from our friend who recommended him for the job! And Jake said that the women he works with in the department stated, *He's a Keeper!*    Moms love to hear that kind of stuff, don't they???

Anyway, things are progressing quite nicely. I love hearing what all of your young men and women are doing! It's a BLESSING to hear that for me!

I just wanted to bump this to see where the 2009 grads had gone. It is inspiring to see that homeschooling does work.

My grown kids:

HS Class of 2005 DS #1 graduated from Thomas Aquinas College (class of 2009) and is working as a computer game programmer now. He wants to pay off his debts then discern whether he has a religious vocation or not.

HS Class of 2007 DS#2 is going to community college at present and will probably transfer to a state univ, though he has some religious inclinations as well.

HS Class of 2008 DD#3 is going off to Thomas Aquinas College next week (class of 2013).

Keeping our 4real grads and grads-to-be in my prayers!

I now have FOUR grads: (how is that possible???)

Class of 2002--graduated 2006 from Benedictine College and is now a second year novice with the Little Sisters of the Poor

Class of 2004--attended college seminary and is now at a state university finishing a degree in math

Class of 2007--has finished two years of college and is looking for another job to save up for a prolonged trip to Europe, aspiring writer

Class of 2009--will be attending a state univ. where she received a music scholarship; has over 20 hours of college credit already

Only three students left in our little home academy!

As we come to the end of another semester, I thought it would be fun to bump this and see what 4Real grads and grads-to-be are doing. I'm so glad that MacBeth started this topic - it has been so encouraging - and I'll gladly update it. Post here or PM!

Class of 2010 -- dd will graduate from home school and Honor's program at community college then will attend the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State Univeristy in the fall .

Love,

thanks for bumping! i've been meaning to update and never got around to it.

dd-18 is in her second term at the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State. she'll be here 2 years, then move on to University of Cincinnati to complete her 5-year degree in Culinology. in august of next year she'll be co-oping at Disneyworld for several months. (moms in FL, i'll need you to keep an eye on her for me

she's LOVING college, but can't wait to finish her degree so she can start her Masters in Theology at Steubenville.

after that she just wants to settle down and be a mom and write living epistles (her words, not mine).

My son, Class of 2010, plans to do at least one year at Anne Arundel Community College (MD) before transferring to a 4-year school. He is taking a class there right now (his first) and his professor told him today he should become a history major...he is doing very well in this class!

His long-term plans are undetermined - he likes engineering, architecture, econ and history - so for him, a year or so at the community college is a great idea. (Plus, he can save several thousand dollars by living at home, which we can add back into his 4-year budget.)

My oldest, who graduated from homeschool May 2009, is currently attending the University of Dallas. She made Dean's List! She absolutely loves it there!

My son will be finished with high school 6/15 (right after he takes his Latin final exam!). Next year, he plans to study and take CLEP tests (using a College Plus coach to help him along)and to also perfect his sight reading and audition pieces. He wants to audition for Berklee College of Music next winter. He dreams of double majoring in music composition and guitar performance.
