Rita,
I don't have words of advice, but I can relate to a lot of what you wrote. I want you to know I will be praying too.
Peace,
Leslie

I'm praying for you, Rita! What beautiful advice everyone has given.
I really can't add anything, but my heart feels compelled to relate a story to you - for what it's worth.
I went to confession once to confess sins of not being as charitable as I should have been and also of being lax in my daily prayers. I shouldn't have been surprised by Father's response, but I was. He said, "you know that the first thing to go when you neglect daily prayer is charity, don't you." My, how that slapped me, and in an instant I reflected and was aware of how much I needed to hear that.
Others have pointed out to you how charity really is an act of the will - not a gushy feeling you have. And in your original post you mention how you are struggling with prayer. I'm only relating this story to encourage you in your prayer life. Charity and prayer are so closely related that they can't be un-entwined from each other. And prayer doesn't have to be long or complicated. Make each action of your day a prayer by offering a morning offering and perhaps a Memorare asking Our Sweet Lady to help you with this intention - to be the wife your sweet husband needs. Do this in the morning - if you need help remembering put a sticky note on your bathroom mirror and pray while you brush your teeth. Then, throughout the day offer up every single thing you do - the diapers, the sibling fights you must untangle, the laundry, the exhaustion, everything. Say it out loud if you have to - "Dear Lord, this is for my husband, for this marriage, may we always be pleasing in your eyes." Pray simply and from the heart. God hears your cries, and He will answer!!!
I'm holding you and your husband in my prayers, Rita!

Rita, many prayers coming your way!
I'm going to link you to a (loooong) thread I started a while ago, that started out different but contains much helpful information for tired wives who want more from their husbands:
My Embarrassing Online Marriage Therapy thread
I may have sounded all "chipper" about my dh in the opening post, but it was mostly forced, because I didn't want to bash him on the forums! (And because I knew that I needed to change ME, because he really is a good man )
I hope it helps some. Get yourself a cup of tea and a snack, it's really long.
