And if you really want to save on gas, Tammy has a great DVD which you can watch at home! I know, not nearly as much fun as being with friends...but you can invite local ones over to watch. I have the DVD so if anyone around here wants to borrow...let me know! |

A couple of us in Northern Indiana were wondering where we could get a DVD of the class?

August Lap Book Workshop
Mom’s Day Out – August 23rd, 2008, at the Community Baptist Church in Montoursville, PA.
Tammy Duby, is a homeschool mom of 18 years, a mother of two, and a borrower of other people’s children. She holds degrees in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. Her teaching takes a hands-on approach, while emphasizing literature. Her workshops offer a blessing, a good laugh, and practical ideas parents can implement right away. She is the co-author of the Ultimate Lap Book Handbook. She and her husband Mike own Tobin’s Lab: Hands-On Science. http://www.tobinslab.com. They live in Culpeper, Virginia with Megan and Tobin.
Tammy will be coming to Montoursville, a town neighboring Williamsport, PA, on Saturday, August 23rd, to offer an All Day Lap Book Workshop beginning at 10:00 am. The work shop will last until 3:30 pm. Please plan to arrive by 9:30am for registration.
What is a Lap Book? It’s a file folder with a few new folds! This super learning enhancer becomes an incredibly creative tool for parents and teachers. It integrates reading and writing, math and science, literature and critical thinking. Classical learners, text bookers, and unit studiers alike find these projects easy to make and a joy to use with ALL ages and ANY curriculum.
Workshop to include:1. Basic Folds and How to Use Them
2. Make a Lap Book
3. How to Put School in Lap Books
If you want to add creative, innovative projects to enhance your child’s learning, this is it!
The cost of the workshop is $28 and will include lunch. It will be held at the Community Baptist Church on Rt. 87 in Montoursville. (The church’s address for obtaining directions: 1853 State Route 87, Montoursville, PA 17754. It is approximately 2 miles off of Rt. 180 in Montoursville.)
To register, please PM me for registration form. Registration is due before August 9th. We will need to restrict registration to 50 moms due to space limitations. Our original announcement about the workshop showed a great interest, so please get your registration in as early as possible to ensure a spot at the workshop.
Bring you favorite scissors, or use Tammy’s! She will bring enough scissors, glue sticks and paper for everyone. After our busy day, you will return home with a stack of samples and oodles of ideas for projects to make with your homeschool students!
Please PM me for registration form

Oh, I would so love to go to this, and I am going to be in Pennsylvania on the 23rd, but I will be moving my dd18 into her dorm room instead of the workshop. Have fun.
God Bless
