Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I get SO bogged down in the details, and I want to do EVERYTHING. So, a while back I wrote out everything I want my kids to learn by the time they are 18. This is the most helpful thing I've done. Talk about perspective! "Everything" for me fell into 6 different categories. Now, every time I lesson plan (short term or long term,) I let those categories be my guide. Here's an example.

Hmmm...I'm intrigued by the idea of keeping the end in mind. I mean that's what I try to do, but I have to admit I have never thought to sit down and write long-term goals and work from there. It really makes sense to do that. I have to log off now, but I'm hoping to find time and sift through all the wonderful ideas I've read so far.
