Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Foggy Bottom is a great area. I had an apartment there for years and walked everywhere. I DID get chased by a transient guy there one night, scared the heck out of me, but you will be in a group, with your husband, so you shouldn't have any trouble.

There is a grocery store over at the Watergate Apartments (down the stairs) unless something's changed.

There's a great place for cds there, called Tower Records. They have a phenomenal classical section.

You'll have a marvelous time! Kelly in FL

Our plans our changing. I just discovered in some searching that there is a big event on the Mall Sept. 10-11. The Black Family Reunion - supposedly it draws 500,000 people. We're thinking that we probably don't want to be trying to see the monuments along with 500,000 other additional visitors!

So we probably won't be at the East Potomac Park on Saturday afternoon. If anyone would still like to visit with us while we're there, let us know. We're open to suggestions on where and when.

Richelle,
Where is the East Potomac Park, exactly? Potomac Park is really huge (as I recall) and I'm wondering if you might not do better to meet at some place like the entrance of the National Zoo, or something that's a litte more defined... However, I'm sure there's probably someone out there in Loop Land who has better information and input on this than I do.

It sounds like a wonderful trip!

Richelle,
We would like to get together with you! We are game for the zoo. We love the National Zoo! They have some cute cheetah cubs! I don't think the panda cub will be out on exhibit in Sept. You can definitely do the zoo in half a day. We are usually in by 10 and out by 2ish and hit all our favorites! Including the Starbucks across the street .
I will pm you my info and lets see what we can work out .

Mary Chris,

The zoo is a great idea! We'd love to meet there. We were already planning to go on September 12th - would that work for you guys? We'd love a tour guide (or several ). Do PM me so that we can work out the details.
