Gang, I hope you won't mind if I spread the word--once again, it is that time of year for the talented Lissa to be up for a slew of awards!

Lissa had never even heard of the Hidden Treasure awards before! Someone she does not know nominated her for the Motherhood category (of all categories). I am still so amazed by this.

Ladies, I love Lissa's blogs and thank Alice for posting. I would have totally missed this blog award otherwise. I read a bit at the Hidden Treasure awards and want to highlight a bit of this entry. The contest is a writing contest, and not a popularity one, so I hope that we will all read the submitted entries before making a decision. We owe it to Lissa and to the other nominees to not vote blindly for our dear friend, but to vote based on the merits of the writing.

Alice, you are such a sweetheart!!!

I hadn't even heard about this contest until the nomination popped up on my news scrape. I was pretty amazed by the Hidden Treasure & motherhood thing (on the Hidden Treasure forum we've had an ongoing conversation about these goosebumpy moments, and this one was a biggie!), especially since the woman who nominated me isn't part of the 4Real circle.

I'm looking forward to reading the other nominated posts. Don't worry, Janette, I don't think Alice was suggesting people should vote blindly--she knows I would never want that! The fun part of these contests is exploring blogs that might be new to you. I discovered some real gems last year when I was nominated for the Homeschooling Blog Awards. Some of my "competitors" became some of my favorite reads over the year!

You are all very kind and I am blushing beet red over here.

Oh, I don't think that Alice was suggesting that at all! I was actually referring to others who *may* have voted blindly in the past (ahem... ) on some blog awards and might have done that again if *we* didn't realize that it wasn't a popularity contest.      Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone else who might be in that boat (with me).
