Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We attend the 9:30 mass, which is the most crowded at our church but works the best for our two little ones.

Well, today a poor boy two rows ahead of us starts throwing up right in the middle of mass. His mother hustled him off to the bathroom, and then several people helped clean up. We sit at the back of the church, so the service was not too interrupted.

Then, the next thing I know, my dh takes my son to use the bathroom in the same exact one stall restroom that the sick boy had left only ten minutes earlier.

I said, "Please tell me you did not take him in there."

And dh shrugs and says, "Oh. I guess I wasn't thinking. But it's OK- he didn't touch anything."

But this is a 4 yo boy who touches everything all the time and constantly has his fingers in his mouth.

So there I am pulling out hand wipes in the middle of mass and feeling like I want to cry. I am so upset with dh, and I feel like I don't even want to take the kids back into church until the flu season is passed.

Please pray for us that I can calm down and my children will not get sick...

If it makes you feel better, Melinda, I had a similiar experience a few weeks ago....and everyone was healthy, thanks be to God!! A friend handed me their little baby because their 2 year old was acting up and their husband was out of town and not there with her....this same baby sounded like he had croup or RSV just a few minutes earlier, hacking and barking...When my kids get that, they end up in the hospital, on steroids...it is a real show stopper for weeks around here...I was almost ready to yell, "Hold your breath, kids, don't breath in his direction...clear the pew!!!"    I said a quick prayer...the boys ended up fine...whew!!!

I will pray for health for your family!!

Ugh.

But the human immune system is amazing and I do have a child who has thrown up in public several times without being the least bit contagious (he got too excited, something ticked his throat, there was an odor that bothered him, etc.) so maybe there weren't even any germs to worry about.

Prayers that you all remain healthy!

Thanks to you all for making me feel better. So far no signs of illness- God is good. And I was thinking today that with the church being so overwarm and crowded maybe it was too much for this poor boy.

And dh felt so bad- he cloroxed all our shoes last night
