Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone know where to find Saint dolls that are inexpensive? The ones I have found are all around $90! I'm looking for ones that can be played with.

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, and there are only a few saints available, but have you seen these?

This is just an idea if you are a bit crafty. Here are some kits to make dolls. I think with just a little bit of fabric and a bit of creativity you could make some really neat saints.   I can picture a veil for Mary or an Indian motif for Bl. Kateri….oh, the options are limitless!!!

FYI: Here is the link to the creator's website (for the dolls that Andrea mentioned). It has all the currently available dolls and retailers.

I emailed the creator of the dolls that I linked to and she said they are only selling through the catholic child website now (online at least). I was hoping the Virgin Mary doll was available, and she pointed me in that direction.

No, the ones on the catholic kids website are available...Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe, JPII, Mother Theresa, child Jesus, and the others. Just on their site, it says Mary is backordered and that's the one I wanted. She said that they don't sell directly through their site anymore, that they sell through catholic kids and the retail stores only.

Dear Jennifer,

I am the Australian supplier of the Faithdolls (my little baby is on the homepage of the Faithdoll website) our Australian press release is one the site too if you would love to see our family and story.

As you already know, there are 6 available at present but the creators are looking for a new company to continue to make their dolls. This has proven a most difficult task for them and they have been making numerous novenas to be able to settle on a suitable one. When they do they will be adding another 6 dolls to their collection: St Joseph, St Jude, St Francis of Assisi, St Maria Goretti, St Bernadette and Bl Kateri Teckawitha - so it will be worth checking on the Faithdolls website from time to time that Jen L has linked us to above.

We really hope that that this will be soon - they were hoping it would be all settled and done for Christmas but it is probably unlikely now, maybe in the early New Year?

Not being able to find anything suitable for my budget or taste (I personally didn't like the faces of the faithdolls, sorry ) so I made ones similar to the ones from Magic Cabin.

I made a St. Rita for my daughter over a year ago. I just made St Francis for my seven yr old son last month and used "fun fur" for his beard and hair! I used a pattern from Brown House dolls to make a nun doll for my other daughter last Christmas. I hadn't made any dolls before. They turned out just darling. I've been experimenting as I can't afford to buy any.

www.brownhousedolls.com --- pattern is only $5 and was easy to follow.

Good luck!!

Peace, Katherine

We have Grandma or we buy the little doll house dolls from Magic Cabin and name them ourselves. They are only 5" tall, but very nice and we give on or two each year. They run $18 each. The 4 girls can take these anywhere. They have Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus (Nativity set), the king became St. Louis, the Indian girl was Blessed Kateri, the Swedish doll became St. Lucy.
Blessings,
Stephanie
