Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hey coastal buddies!

I see some pretty fine pictures of wind and flooding on the Internet and on the news. Check in and let us know how it's going, if you are in a coastal/flood plain area likely to be hit by this Ernesto storm.

Well, I'm not as far east as some folks but we're fine. Lots of rain and I got my van stuck yesterday outside the garage, but there was no wind damage on our home. I couldn't sleep last night with the wind howling and was up til 3am. So caffeine is my friend today!

I wonder how Louise is doing? Ernesto's eye was suppose to go right thru her area.

It's very rainy with some strong gusts, but we're not floating away yet here in Northern VA. Praying for all the holiday drivers, though -- the roads are awful.

Praying for everyone in these eastern coastal areas. You have heartfelt prayers from the southern coast.

No flooding here on LI so far, but this morning my husband and awoke to a strange sound in the backyard, only to find a rather large tree down. Remanants of Ernesto. What seemed to be a perfectly healthy tree just split right down the trunk. Still very windy here, and I am just praying the rest of our trees survive this day. Last week, my children and I narrowly missed a rare event on LI, a tornado! We were on our way to the mall, and while in the mall we heard heavy rains and a very loud rumbling, like a train. I later learned that a tornado had touched down uncomfortably close to the road we had driven on not ten minutes earlier! Our Guardian Angels were working overtime that day!
