Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi ladies,

I read about the Bare Minerals cosmetics on this board with interest as I have been avoiding purchasing cosmetics because of the chemicals I (and our nursing child, or future children I carry) might be absorbing from them. I really need to be more presentable though and while makeup may not be strictly necessary, sometimes it is helpful psychologically as well as aesthetically.

One thing we've been trying to avoid in other products is "phthalates" which if I recall correctly occur in some cosmetics. Off the top of my head I won't try to accurately relate the concerns and where else they may be found! I can't find their presence or absence mentioned on the Bare Minerals site or elsewhere on the Web in reference to this brand. So does anyone have an ingredients list she could review and let me know if it does or doesn't contain any ingredients with "phthalate" in the name, so I can Google those and see if they are of concern?

If this sounds like I'm not all that well-informed, I'm not... but I think I've reached my personal time quota for doing my own Google research on this subject! Thanks for any info.

Theresa
