Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

The realization has dawned on me slowly, but it has dawned nevertheless...that I am going to be buying cards and gifts for:
3 Confirmations
1 First Communion
at least 1 Wedding
2 Ordinations
2-3 Graduations
2 of my own children's May birthdays
2 sister and sil birthdays
and least something I'm sure I can't remember right now.
There is no way, unless I get an extra job or take out a loan. I'm going to need low cost/homemade ideas.....please help

I think mass cards are the best for sacraments unless you have a great personalized idea. Also, my one brother sends them for extended family b'days. Easy and inexpensive and what more could you ask for? That knocks out a lot of your list.

Then you could spend real money on the wedding and kid's bdays?

Mother's Day

I agree with the Mass intentions

I know what you mean though. I'm not looking forward to the next two weeks on into May.

The last Sunday of this month is First Communion. I'm having Chelsea's dress handmade. I spoke to the seamstress after Mass today. She assures me it'll be ready in time. Gloves, stockings, veil are bought and ready. Godmother made sure of that.

May 7th is my oldest ds's graduation party. I'm on top of that...I think.

Then there is:
Our 20th Wedding Anniversary
Mother's Day
My best friend's ds's graduation party
My dd's Sweet 16th b-day

June brings vacation time and dance recital...

...and Hurricane season.

A couple of homemade ideas that the children could make:

For Mother's Day we're making spirtual bouquets ~ construction paper flowers with a prayer on each petal.

And if we have time we will also make rosary boxes. I bought small wooden hinged boxes at the craft store. We're going to paint them in light blue and gold and line the inside with a bit of blue felt.
