Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Dd18 is going to be attending school in Pennsylvania. We have been given the opportunity to drive her there, we are so excited. To get there, we will travel on I40 to 81 through Virginia. We will be traveling through August. We know we will be spending time in Washington, D.C. and if anyone else wanted to visit Washington at the same time, we would love to meet up with you.

I was also wondering where the best place to stay is. I know I will have to stay outside of Washington, can anyone recommed a good city, maybe close to the trains so we don't have to drive everyday.

Thank you and God Bless

Robynn,
From where are you starting? We just moved from Hawaii, shipped our van to San Francisco and had a wonderful road trip from San Fran to North Carolina. It was great, and I am very encouraging of anyone else doing a big family road trip--so much great togetherness!

Before Hawaii, we lived in Maryland outside DC, up 270. On that side, Rockville, MD in Montgomery Co. is the last stop on the Red Line on the metro (or was at that time). There may be hotels that have shuttles to the metro (I don't know since we didn't need the hotels) or there's a parking garage.

Have a great trip-ours flew by and we couldn't believe it was over when we got here!

Blessings,
Sarah

Sarah,

We are in So. California. I am so glad your trip was such a success. I am truly looking forward to this trip, spending time with our dd before she goes off to college will provide many memories for her when we are so far away and for her other siblings who will miss her dearly.

Thnak you for the information on Maryland.

God Bless
Robynn

In August, I would strongly recommend using I-70 instead of I-40 because of the much milder weather along that route. It's the way I came when I moved from SoCal to NoVA. It is quite boring for the most part, but you can drive very fast and the major metro areas you pass through are generally much safer than those along the southern route.
