Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Chickenlady,

I saw a Valentine boat craft at Chinaberry. Maybe something like that along with floating the boats? My ds chose to make birds instead of boas tho'.

In Christ,
Deborah

One of the many stories of St. Valentine mentions that he secretly married Roman soldiers to their sweethearts because back then soldiers were not permitted to be married. Perhaps you could do something soldier related?

A physical activity like a scavenger hunt.
They could work together to figure out clues that lead to a prize.

The cupid arrow would be great....use one of those suction cup arrows to shoot at different sized hearts or a bulls-eye in a heart.

Hey Molly,

Could you do a "bird feeder" craft? Legend has it that Valentine's Day is the day that birds choose their mates and begin nest making. You could put peanut butter on pine cones and roll in bird seed and have them hang them up outside....?

I'm notorious for being too gender-heavy in one direction and forgetting the other half in party planning.

Kathleen

I always think "mosaic" becuase of the Sabuda Saint Valentine book. Could you do a simple mosaic -- either bits of paper or broken tiles or something .... they could do them on wooden plaques or something?

My boys are going to make valentines and "deliver" them by having us sit in different parts of the room and wing paper airplanes at us .... that could be a fun delivery method!
