Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anybody know what a white powdery looking substance on the top of my honey might be? It is packaged in a clear plastic bottle and I just noticed this stuff on the top of it. Can honey get moldy?
(Leave it to me to ask such a strange question! )

I could be wrong (it happens from time to time ) but I've heard that honey is the only food that does not go bad. Is this true??

That is crystalization of the sugars in the honey. Not a problem. If you want to get rid of the crystals soak your container in a bowl of very warm water for a little bit.

The only thing I know of that makes honey moldy is if you get water or any liquid in it via re-dipping a wet spoon or the like.    Valerie

I second the cystalization. Before I knew the difference, I would throw out a half bottle thinking it had gone bad (and these were those Costco bottles). What a relief to know it was fine...no more wasted money!

Thanks ladies! This is one of those big Sam's Club bottles (like Costco) so I really didn't want to throw it out and waste it!
