Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

It's really not a lot is it? I've started the postings on O Night Divinewith a Harvest Gift post. I'd love to hear in the comment box or here how you all use summer harvest in your gift giving at Christmas.

Upcoming topics will be feast days, Christmas notebook/planner, Christmas music, and I am hoping to get together a unit study or two. Any ideas, comments, suggestions are always welcome.

Thanks for the reminder! With a baby due in mid-December, I am starting my Christmas shopping and planning now.

Hi Mary Ellen,

I don't know if you'd want to mention this at O Night Divine. I've been using the Christmas Countdown notebook pages from the Organized Christmas site for the last 7 years. I just tweak things to make it work for our family.

In summary, the Christmas Countdown is a six week progam starting in October and finishing up by Advent. This program has really helped me to think ahead and do the busy work early on. I like that I can really focus on Advent and the upcoming Christmas season during December. I'm not running around like a chicken without its head anymore.

Thank you Mare. Organized Christmas was a big part of the planning posts on O Night Divine last year. It is an invaluable resource.

I don't usually have time to check blogs.. so I thought I'd just post here.

We were recently given a bunch of tiny plums. Not freestone so trying to pit was a disaster. I ended up canning them whole with a bit of brandy in the sugar syrup. I did pints.. so now I have 12 pints that can be used as gifts (well not all of them.. I want a couple ) They look real pretty and I thought maybe a nice pound cake with them would be yummy.

My kids are already working on a nativity play for our guests on Christmas. Sets, script, costumes. I'm sure there is a post in there somewhere.

Aaaaaah! With this baby coming I totally forgot about Christmas!

Well, after the baby's born there will probably be a nice round 100 days left to count down. That will be fun for the girls and I! I have no great tips to add but can't wait to see how O Night Divine fleshes out this year. It was SO wonderful last time!

I've got nothing constructive to add. My head is still spinning from my dd's recent wedding. And now we're shifting bedrooms around. But I just wanted to say that I'm so excited that you are doing O Night Divine again!
It was wonderful last year!!!

Christmas is going to super low-key out of necessity this year -- our new baby is due December 13 and I am teaching RCIA this year (in addition to 4th grade CCD, pray for me!). But I LOVED reading O Night Divine last year and I know I will use it to prioritize things this year.

Just found this beautiful Our Lady of Guadalupe ornament on ebay that is advertised as a Christmas ornament for a Christmas tree, to put up on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. They have quite a few available.

I spent the day there yesterday! I'm also so pleased that you'll be doing it again this year. It's a wonderful site!
