We did couples bunco a few years ago, that was alot of fun. We've done different board games for couples nights. We meet at one couples house, byob and munchies and play a board game. Anther idea for couples night is a video night, we did The Jewlers Shop last year. We are planning one for next month, I am trying to find a suitable movie for this. During Lent, we've done couples nights at a local parish fish fry.

Moms night out is always fun with a recipe swap. (everyone bring so many copies of so many of their favorite recipes to exchange.) We did a 'series' of topics for a bi-monthly moms night, I believe the topics were: recipe swap, getting out and about with lots of littles (I did a babywearing demo at this one.), finding time for prayer and sharing our favorite devotions, and bring your favorite homeschooling resource night. A mothers tea, like the one Alice hosted a few months ago is good too.

Just some ideas, I'd like to hear others also. Hope you figure something out!

For couples night(around 7 couples) we played charades. I thought I would hate it but after laughing at everyone else I finally had enough courage to take a turn! Both Dh and I said it was the most group fun we've had.

We played guys against girls and had 4 catagories; movies, books, TV shows, and music. Each team wrote down 3 choices for each catagory. Then a member of the other team chose a slip of paper and had to act it out without using words. They were allowed to tell their teamates what category it was. There were hand signals to let their team know how many words the phrase consisted of, if they were going to act out the second word first, how many syllables it was, etc...

Dh had to act out Romeo and Juliet...I died laughing!

For mother's day out we used to have a themed recipe swap breakfast/lunch/dinner meeting.

Each month we would pick a new theme such as "southern brunch"- "pool party food"- or vegetarian-- at the current party we picked the next month's theme and then divide up the meal between the ladies.

Some of the meals got real interesting- like the all red food Valentine's meal.

How about bowling? I'm a horrible bowler but we use to go out with friends and it was always fun. We'd do girls vs. boys and sometimes, couples vs. couples. We usually had a good amt of people with us and it was always fun.

StacyLynn,

We had a wine tasting party with some of the 4Real moms and their spouses and it was really fun. We had a video that showed the basics and we used the pro-life
Bogo Wines.

A few years ago I had a mom's night out where we put together supplies for Advent crafts so they were all ready to go when Advent started. I brought the raw materials (paper, cardstock, yarn, etc.) and we cut/glued/assembled together while we chatted.

Another mom and I had a Stamping night where we each brought everything for each mom to make 2 cards. That was so fun we plan to do it again this year.

It's always so nice to pray the Rosary or Liturgical prayer together. It would be nice to have a night of prayer, Confession and a great spiritual speaker followed by drinks and goodies.

We also had a Bunco night for couples. I didn't go but there was a Bunco game for about 30 of our teens and it was a blast. It's a fast paced game of teams during which people move to other teams, so high scoring players won't always stay on the same team.

The charades and theme dinners sound fun. Wouldn't it be fun to have a backyard movie on one of those new outdoor projectors?
