Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was wondering if anyone here is going to the Catholic HOmeschoolers of PA conference. Beth (mathmama) and I are driving down together and I know that Margot Helene will be there with her wonderful Hillside publications but it would be great to meet some other 4Real'ers IRL!!

Here's the link for Harrisburg.

I won't be there, I'll be at the Catholic Family Fest in Lancaster instead.

Hi Kelly!

No I haven't attended CHAP though I know some locals who have.

In general I usually only attend conferences as a vendor now and I don't think that CHAP draws enough Catholics for it to be worth it for me (their vendor spaces are quite pricey).

Do you go? If so, do you like it?

I've gone to CHAP a couple of times. It is just huge! They usually get some excellent speakers. As you probably realize, the emphasis is Evangelical Christian. Some of the things there (vendors as well as speakers) are of value, but much of it is just not my cup of tea. I would go just for access to the materials (being able to see things before ordering), but the admission is high (like $20). That's not so bad if you're going for the *whole experience*, hearing the talks, etc., but for the curriculum fair only you still pay the same admission. That's not meant as a discouragement for those who want to attend. Just wanting to fill in some details about the conference to to try and help others who are wondering about what it's like.

Peace,
Nancy

Yes, CHAP is definitely more evangelical Christian in nature. This year it's $24 for both Friday and Saturday. It is HUGE and has some excellent speakers as Nancy pointed out. It's only 15 minutes from my home and I love to go and just LOOK! Of course, I also end up buying My husband takes the day off from work and I have the whole day to myself, I consider it my "mother culture".
