Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have a question for all of you who cover your heads at mass.

We cover our heads and I am trying to decide about Easter head coverings for my girls.   Years past we always have gotten the girls new dresses, gloves, adn hats. But this year I am having difficulty finding hats for their ages and head size. Does anyone have a good source on hats for pre teen heads? Or as your girls get older do you just go with the veils?

Another thought, in May they are all 3 being Confirmed so I would like to use the same head covering. My mother suggested making them wreaths of roses and baby's breathe. I personally like this idea but my oldest thinks they will stand out from the other girls being that fancy    So I need some ideas, what do you all think?

I've been using kerchief style lace "veils" for my two dds who wear one (the youngest isn't three yet, so she's not in one--no point putting something on soon to be ripped off--but she gets one next month for her bday).

I'm planning on upgrading the girls to "real veils like Mama's" when they hit the Easter after they turn seven...which I JUST realized for my oldest is THIS Easter. Crud. Gotta get that thing ordered.

Haloworks has some for smaller sizes, if you are interested in purchasing one.

Flower wreaths don't have to be big and fancy.. think small flowers and narrow wreath.. rose buds in a single line around for instance.

I did a flower wreath for my daughter 2 years ago.. with a bit of a veil down the back that came out very pretty and not overly fancy. I can see if I can find a picture of it for you. picture
