Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. I need a tutorial for drawing tables in Word. I want to make a chart for my ds. I don't know how to make a table in Word and I have really, really limited time in which to figure it out. Usually I give up (because it's hard to learn something new in 5 or 10 minutes here and there) and just draw something by hand. But it might be nice to have a form. I like the way charts in word look better than using Excel, but I could just use Excel.

Help?

I found a tutorial, Angel:

How to Draw Tables in Word

Another possibility -- download a basic doc table form, like this one, then just play around with it to make it how you want it.

Hope this gives you a start!

(I'm assuming you have an older version of Word -- if you have Word 2007, you

(1) go to the "INSERT" label on the top of your screen and open up the menu,

(2) choose the "Table" button.

(3) Make the table the size you want (it's like a grid and you just select the number of columns and rows)

Best wishes! If that's not enough help, I can give more details, or I am sure someone else will be able to help.

Oh, I know what you mean, Angela! I much prefer working in a table dropped into a document!

So funny you asked this, Angela--I was going to ask this same question just yesterday while putting together yet another set of checklists in Excel. My Excel-expert husband would beg to differ, but I like the look of tables in Word better, and for me, Excel comes with its own challenges when it comes to moving things around, printing, etc. Off to check out Willa's link...

Thanks, Willa. The thundering herd will be in here any moment awaiting computer time, but hopefully I can spend a few quiet moments tonight or tomorrow checking out that link!
