Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I hope I have this in the correct place. The older children need to make some Valentine's for a project, they have to be small (no glitter or too thick and not heavy). Anyone have any simple ideas that look nice? I think I lost some creative juices recently!

Let's see - I love anything with rubber stamps.   You can do some incredible things very simply with rubber stamps.

I have always thought these doily ones from Martha Stewart were lovely and pretty simple.

Family Fun has a large selection of valentine ideas. I liked the stained-glass valentine.

I also think paper woven hearts make lovely valentines though they aren't really a card. You can modify the size to make them larger or smaller. You could tuck a small picture of St. Valentine inside. This site has some amazing variations in their patterns section.

Thank you so much for the ideas! It's just what we needed! I think we'll do the woven this time. We need to have 30+ done by Saturday.. Yikes!

One I've done with my small children:

Kids rip colored paper (red, pinks, white) into strips and pieces. Put into bowl.

Give each child a large piece of colored paper and some glue. Glue pieces randomly all over the paper.

When glue has dried, cut paper into hearts (when I did this with 2 and 3 year olds I did the heart cutting, now my 7, 8, and 9 year olds could do this part).

All done! We wrote on the backs of them, but you would'nt have to. These turn out SOOO pretty.
