We want to get a waffle maker, but most of the ones I've seen are for small families. We want a BIG one.

Does anyone know if such a thing exists?

Hi Books,

I saw this 6-slice wafflemaker in the Chef's Catalog. I haven't seen one bigger, but there certainly may be one out there!

Hope that helps.

Glad to help .

Except that I already have a heart-shaped, 4-slice waffle maker (from my bridal shower 13 years ago!) I would love one like this too. It would be great for making large batches to freeze, and the size is better for making p.b.j. waffle-sandwiches, a staple around here .

QVC: George Foreman combination grill/waffler/etc.

Check out today's special value on QVC! This would be a good multi-function product, I think.

HTH,
JoAnna

Here's
a link to a review of the Cuisinart model. Also a link to Amazon. The price is cheaper and there are a mix of reviews.

LOL! Jen, you are a net queen, I am sure!

Well, it sounds like the cuisinart is NOT all its cracked up to be. Most of the reviews were horrible. Bummer. The other one didn't sound too good, either, but the 5 piece one might work.

Hmmmmm...I think I'll do a bit more thinking and researching before buying one.

Thanks again, Jen. Internet searches are not my strongpoint.

I'm intrigued by the George Foreman (but not the price). Here are some reviews on a similar model at Amazon

We have the Cuisinart and really like it. The reviews are pretty bad there, and the issues they raised are true, but we adjusted without difficulty.   For the batter out the front issue, we put a small amount and spread it with a rubber spatula and don't put as much in the front. As for burning fingers, we don't touch the hot places. As for the mess on the outside, I wipe it the best I can, and store it in a cabinet.

I actually have two. One ancient one that my mom gave me. It was hers for years. Then I bought a cheapie one at JC Penney a year or so ago. It was being discontinued and I got it for $10. It makes 6 waffle sticks which is fine for my toddlers. Having two going is just as effecient as long as you have a place to put them.
