Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I hope this is in the right forum, since it relates to decluttering and organization.

I've sold used books in the past both at Amazon and eBay. I'm curious if anyone has had selling experience with Half Price Books.

I'm really torn. Part of me just wants to donate the books and say goodbye, but another part of me thinks it's prudent to sell. Selling online involves shipping the books, which takes time and money, and there's no guarantee they'll all sell.

We have a Half Price Books store locally and I'm thinking this would be a nice, fast way to unload my book "clutter" while reaping the reward of at least a little money. The website says they'll make offers on all the books you bring in, though some titles that don't sell easily usually get donated to a non-profit organization.

Any feedback is welcome.

I have a friend that uses a half-price books and really likes it. But I think she also finds a lot of books to purchase there.

And I think in some ways a more speedy process makes up for a lower return.

I like to BUY books from halfprice.com

I think taking them to the store gets you both....a bit of money and books donated...and the best: OUT OF YOUR HOUSE at one time...without having to ship anything....watch websites.........etc

Just my thought...if it were ME .....but I am naturally lazy

That's my main fear. I'm not sure I have the strength to wait for them to go through my books and NOT find something I want at the store. I actually listed some things at Amazon after all (I forgot how easy listing there is). It's the homeschool stuff that I didn't just want to donate to Goodwill or another similar charity.

I'm sure once I get deeper into the book decluttering I'll make a trip or two to Half Price Books.

Are you a member of HSLDA? I think they have something.. I don't recall if they have a place you can sell homeschooling stuff.. but I'm pretty sure they will take donation for people who are struggling financially to homeschool.
