Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I know for most of you the 3rd is not a big deal.

In our sub-division the concert and firework show is tonight,    at least it gives us two oppurtunities to celebrate Independence Day.

Tonight we are doing a picnic on the golf course. Dh is going to help me fry chicken, a first for me, and I plan to make a corn and blackbean salad, roasted new potato salad, slice up some watermelon and we made some fun patriotic cupcakes for dessert.

I hope I don't gain 100 pounds this weekend. It is going to be an All-American food fest around here. We plan to have burgers on the grill tomorrow and ribs on Sunday. I'm already feeling a bit ish!

The 3rd is usually a big deal around here. It is ds #1's birthday. He's 18 today!!!! But, alas, he is working all day until late and all weekend, too. He works for a brewery that is having a big 4th of July event.

So, dinner tonight will be something that is quick, easy and doesn't make a mess, as we are cleaning for our party tomorrow.

I'm not sure what we are doing for dinner tonight, maybe a cold pasta salad. We are planning on watching fireworks though! Happy almost 4th!
