Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

How do you all organize your photos? I confess to having years of photos stuffed in a cabinet. We have been digital for several years, but I have hundreds, if not thousands, of pictures from before the digital era! Every time I start to sort, I get lots of help, so everything is so disorganized!

well I haven't done it myself.. but if I was going to.. I'd try and get them sorted by year into boxes or something.. so that I could work on them after kids are in bed and easily put them away.

Then once they were sorted by year.. I would be able to get out a single box and sort them within that box.. then they don't have to lay out everywhere and can be done with little extra help.

and then I would label and put in albums.. no scrapbooking for me.. just a nice orderly progression of photos

I just completed a big photo organization project that I am hoping to write about on my blog. I will try to remember to reply to this post when I do. I'll have links for the photo storage boxes, albums etc that I used and where I got them. It all looks so beautiful, neat and organized on the shelves. I'm so happy. I think I will be posting about it sometime in the next couple weeks.

My 11 year old daughter has been having a field day assembling albums...

You might want to hand this job over to your daughters...buy them albums, give them the photos and tell them to have fun!

Peace!

Sara

Unfortunately, it isn't my 13 year old's thing. I will have to get them in some sort of order before letting the younger girls go at them. We were having a time of it today just figure out whose baby pictures we were looking at. Pitiful!

Well, to give you the idea of what Nora did:

She took one photo album that we received at some random child's birth or baptism (pathetic that I don't remember...it is pink, so that narrows it down a bit...) and she placed pictures of each kid in order of age. Since it is a "baby" type album, she basically stopped putting pictures in when they were about 5 years old or so. There are about 5-6 pictures of each kid...it is very sweet and the kids love to look at it. (So do I...where has the time gone??? )

As for not knowing who is which child...pretend it it the one you have the least pictures of...that way that child won't feel like you didn't love him/her!

(And for those of you who don't know me...I am joking...sort of!)

I have a hutch full of photo albums from the pre-digital age. I only put the best ones in them. All else went into ONE box in the basement.

We have one stray newborn picture. The baby is on the scale immediately after birth. It wasn't one of the boys and it wasn't the redhead. Baby #7 is on digital. That just leaves three choices! We finally realized today after close examination that we can make out the weight on the scale. Great! Now we know which baby it is, right Mom? Ummm, I am pretty sure it is _____. Let me check the birth weights. (and they would be where?!)
