Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Maybe this thread has already surfaced somewhere. Feel free to clue me in!

I really would like to make ornaments or garland for the tree but being seriously craft challenged nothing comes to mind.

Link your blogs here ladies or other instructions for handmade stuff to hang on the tree.

Garland alternatives welcome too!

I only have a minute, but there are several posts in the Life in the Domestic Church forum.

Search the archive, too. I remember wonderful saint ornaments from previous years.

Just a few ideas:

Right now I'm making a bunch of these felt star ornaments--they come together quickly and the end result is very classy. (I bead the star before stuffing it, though, to make the project that much easier.)

This free tutorial for stuffed birds could, as they mention in the article, easily be made into an ornament. There is a similar pattern in Joelle Hoverson's Last-Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts. (I have the book out from my library now and am hoping to make a few birds for the tree if I get a chance.)

This knitted garland for the tree would be nice if you know how to knit.

MaryM has posted some clever and lovely saint-related ornament projects at O Night Divine recently too. I have those bookmarked for next year!

I have made several ornaments with the kids this year. We are having an all handmade Christmas and our big tree has only handmade ornaments on it. Nothing fancy, but you could check out my blog to see if you want. Linked after my signature below.

I remember hand sewing one of these in 5th grade. We glued our school picture to it. I still have mine :)

Celeste, I appreciate you mentioning the ornaments I posted on O Night Divine.

Here are a couple that I have posted on my blog in the past:
Beaded snowflakes
(which you might remember form the Craft of the Week)
Beaded candy canes - these are REALLY easy

Papercast ornaments (super easy - made out of toilet paper - clea, I promise )

And this is one I never got around to posting about - but they are super easy. You just use the glitter/sparkly chenille stems and bend them into cute shapes and connecting different colors by twisting on - adding beads if desired.

I have some other ideas, but all I have time to post right now.

Oh, and I meant to add a garland idea - pom pom garland - except I would do in in Christmas colors.

Can you crochet? I've got a simple pattern I'm about to post on O Night Divine this weekend.

Recycled Christmas Card Ornaments are my absolute favorite. More ideas with cards

There are loads of ideas at MarthaStewart.com, with all sorts of different levels of expertise. I pulled up 5 pages with search term "ornaments". This one Pipe Cleaner Snowflake Ornaments, looked really easy to do.

Oh, either Sculpey, cinnamon applesauce, or salt dough ornaments are so easy to make using cookie cutters you have.

I just bought a garland made from rustic hairy twine with jingle bells tied onto it. I actually used it to wrap very tightly onto a stick and make a jingle-bell wand, but I thought it was a pretty and easy idea to make at home.
