Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My sister is turning 40 this year. I really want to do something special for her. We hope to have a surprise party for her, but I would like to make something for her.

I am thinking along the lines of a scrapbook, but, I have never made one and I would also like to include music. So, I am thinking something digital, but I have no idea what is out there. This would be the nice way to go because I could easily include pictures without taking them from my mom forever.

So, do I want to do a digital scrapbook? If not, then what.

I am also open to ideas that are totally different than this. I am just in the early planning stages now. She actually just turned 39 less than a month ago so I have some time

Thanks for any ideas you have!!

Beth

Hi Beth,

Not sure what kind of computer you have...we have an iMac and their imovie program is awesome. My husband and I made a DVD for my parents recently. It's basically a bunch of video clips put to music followed by a slideshow with music. Using this program was incredibly easy. I'm sure there is a compatible PC version. It turned out beautifully. You would just need to borrow the photos and scan them.

Just a thought...

Another non-technical idea is to make a scrapbook and separate it into decades, including current events of those years. Maybe contact family members and have them tell you 40 favorite memories or favorite things about your sister to add at the end.

Good Luck! I'd love to hear what you decide to do.

Rebecca mentioned BLURB on one of her blog posts!

Looks like fun!
