Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have read through the threads on vacuums...and it's very likely that I'm missing the answer I'm looking for ... but can anyone recommend a canister vacuum that is designed for hard floors...does one even exist?

We have tile in the kitchen/family room and I guess I'm too lazy to go back to sweeping. The hardwoods in the rest of the house get dustmopped, but I will still run the vacuum through major traffic areas like the dining room and my bedroom or as far as the cord will reach from the family room!

I have looked online at the Hoover and Panasonic that with a press of a button can switch between carpet and hard floors. What I am *hoping* to find is a vacuum that has a LARGE floor piece without a brush to interfere with vacuuming up legos, broken crayons or anything that is left on the floor! I want to hear the crackle, crackle of it ALL being sucked up. Does the spinning brush interfere? Maybe I'm hung up on the wrong thing.

Anyway, it's to be a late Christmas present to myself (or make that an Epiphany present) and I would appreciate any opinions!

Thanks, ladies!

Me too! I love that sound. I also love my Electrolux canister w/ hard floor attachment. My entire downstairs is (finally ) all wood, and it does a great job. Here is what I have.
