Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

So, I'm doing my baking for the Christmas party tomorrow, and I'm wondering if I can knock out my pecan pies for Christmas dinner too? Would I need to freeze them, or will they just keep? I've never had a pie last longer than a day, because they're always eaten . Provided it doesn't get eaten, how can I make sure it's still yummy on Tuesday?

Thanks!

I think you just want to keep it cold.. not frozen.. so refrigerator... unless it's cold enough where you are that setting it in an unheated room is the same thing

Winter-time pecan pies in our house get covered with aluminum foil and placed on a shelf in the garage. Christmas always includes pecan pie! Enjoy yours, Noreen.

Peace,
Nancy

A bit OT but have you ever added Chocolate chips to Pecan Pie! So Yummy and RICH!

Also, we just store ours in the fridge. Keeps fine!

Coming in late, Noreen, but we have pecan pie year round in Louisiana. We always leave our pecan pies on the countertop wrapped in foil. I've never had trouble with them spoiling early.

Of course, refrigeration guarantees safe food and can't hurt the pie.

Pecan pies just wouldn't keep here.

I like them too much.

Thanks, ladies! I knew you'd come through. I did make them - 2 beautiful pies, and I'll probably end up keeping them in the fridge just to get them off my countertop (and keep the kids from picking at them)
