Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am unexpectedly hosting and leading our little flower meeting tonight. I don't have the leader's guide, could someone please give me the memeory verse for St. Monica. And if you have any easy craft ideas? Snack ideas? I am just not feeling creative today. I will be home for the ext couple hours and then have to go to the craft store.

Help!

Thank you,
LeeAnn

The memory verse as it is in the book - not on the CD -
Psalm 18:1-2
"I love you, O Lord, my strength, O Lord, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer. My God, my rock of refuge, my shield, the horn of my salvation, my stronghold!"

The virtue is Love of God, so any heart craft... how old are the girls?

Good luck!

Our book shows that St. Monica is actually the saint of the virtue of Hope and the verse is:

Psalm 71:5
"For you are my hope, O Lord; my trust, O God, from my youth."

We just did Love of God with St. Agnes.

Maybe we have different editions? We just bought ours this year.

For a craft, the girls decorated little pots with stickers and planted some rye grass seed in them (fast growing). Not very quick and easy unless you can head out to a garden center before tonight.

SO SORRY!!!!! Matilda is absolutely right. I gave you next month's info. Thank you, Matilda!!!

The first year we did wreath 1 the teaching mom had ivy in her garden. The girls made wreaths of ivy and curly ribbon streamers. After wearing them for the meeting, the girls took them home and arranged them on their family altars. Do you have access to ivy? (which I believe is the "flower" for the month - but good grief, I've been known to be wrong!)

Sorry, again for the confusion.

You are right about the ivy, Suz, and those wreaths sound lovely! You could do it with fake ivy if you don't have access to any of the real stuff. Maybe even write H-O-P-E in metallic paint pen on the leaves or running down the ribbons.

Thank you so much ladies!
i went to Hobby Lobby and all fake greenery was 50% off so I bought 2 big bunches of ivy.

I think I am going to have them copy the verse on pretty paper and frame them with a "heavenly" picture. We are going to frame them and then glue the ivy to the frames.
