Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just want to understand something in the medical world. When you have blood drawn for tests like CBC or something, can the results indicate whether or not you're fighting a viral infection?

If so, what is elevated?

And for bacterial infections, what indicates that?

Thanks for any help.

I think it is the white blood count that is elevated when you are fighting an infection. I am not sure how bacterial versus viral is indicated . But feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

The white blood cells are broken down into types and stages. These numbers/amounts will vary by infection type bacterial vs viral. Though another blood test is sometimes needed to determine the type of bacteria. Annie
